  • Poland's aggregate solar PV capacity installed till September 30, 2021 exceeded 6.12 GW
  • During 9M/2021, it installed over 2 GW with the addition of 894 MW in Q3/2021 alone
  • PSE said the latest data combines the information shared by the country's distribution system operators

Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne SA (PSE), the transmission system operator of Poland, on its twitter account counts the country's cumulative installed solar PV capacity to have reached 6.126 GW by September 30, 2021.

It aggregates this data basis information shared by the nation's distribution system operators. On its website, PSE states that the total installed PV capacity in Poland as on August 1, 2021 was 5.498 GW, which means 628 MW new capacity came online between August 2021 and September 2021.

With the addition of around 540 MW in Q1/2021 and 762 MW in Q2/2021, along with 894 MW the country added during Q3/2021 alone, Poland installed well over 2 GW within 9M/2021 (see Poland Exceeds 5 GW Cumulative Solar Power Capacity).

The country is moving faster than what it should be under Poland's Energy Policy that has a low ambition to deploy between 10 GW and 16 GW cumulative solar PV capacity till 2040 (see Poland Approves Energy Policy Until 2040).
