Norway based REC Group is set to unveil its new solar module called Alpha Pure-R during Renewable Energy India (REI) B2B trade show to be held in September 2022, as its parent company Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) presses on with new Solar Giga Factory in Gujarat.

REC won the Intersolar Award 2022 for its Alpha Pure series of lead-free PV modules in Munich this year, and now it is getting ready for Alpha Pure-R heterojunction (HJT) module (see Day 1 Highlights From Intersolar Europe 2022).

Alpha Pure modules use large G12 format for HJT cells in a patented panel design with a power output of up to 430W. Since the module is under 2 m², it is ideal for residential installations, stated REC.

The Norwegian company is also in the process of doubling its Alpha HJT production capacity in Singapore from 600 MW to 1.2 GW.

RIL plans to bring this technology to India in a Solar Giga Factory spread in 5,000 acres at the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat (see Indian Billionaire Wants 4 New Energy Gigafactories).

The company is now actively hiring for the Jamnagar location as well as for REC's Centre for Excellence in Singapore.

In April 2022, RIL contracted China's Suzhou Maxwell to supply 4.8 GW HJT cell production equipment for the India operations (see Reliance Bets On Heterojunction Production).
