  • RenewSys’s Hyderabad facility has been enlisted with 452 MW of bifacial n-type TOPCon solar cell capacity under ALMM List-II

  • The approved cells use an M10R wafer format with a 16-busbar design and efficiencies ranging from 24.0% to 25.6%

  • RenewSys is also developing a 4.5 GW G12R solar PV cell manufacturing line, with 2.25 GW currently under execution

India-based solar manufacturer RenewSys has been included in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II for its bifacial n-type TOPCon solar PV cells. The enlistment approval covers the company’s Hyderabad facility with an annual production capacity of 452 MW.

The approved cells are based on bifacial n-type TOPCon technology and use a 182.2 mm × 183.75 mm M10R wafer format with a 16-busbar design. According to the company, the cells achieve efficiencies ranging from 24.0% to 25.6%, with power outputs between 8.03 W and 8.54 W per cell. The products are also described as PID-free. The enlistment is valid until April 29, 2030.

The approval comes as India continues expanding domestic manufacturing requirements across the solar value chain through ALMM-linked policies. Earlier, the country’s focus had largely remained on module manufacturing, while ALMM implementation for cells from June 1, 2026, is now gradually bringing domestic cell production into focus (see India To Impose ALMM For Solar Cells From June 1, 2026).

Commenting on the development, Avinash Hiranandani, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of RenewSys, said the inclusion marks an important step for the company and supports India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.

RenewSys’s inclusion is part of the 7th revision to ALMM-II. Earlier revisions had also added TOPCon, PERC, and HJT cell capacities from companies including Waaree, Premier Energies, Reliance Industries, Websol, and Jupiter Solartech (see HJT Solar Cells, From Reliance, Enter India’s ALMM List-II).

In addition to solar cell and module manufacturing, RenewSys is also active in supplying encapsulants and backsheets. The company is also expanding its cell roadmap with a planned 4.5 GW G12R solar PV cell line, of which 2.25 GW is currently under execution. The use of M10R and planned G12R formats aligns with the industry’s ongoing shift toward larger-format n-type cell platforms, remarks RenewSys.
