Slovenia has launched a tender to develop large-scale renewable energy and cogeneration capacity. The Eastern European Union member state includes solar, hydro and biogas power projects with a maximum capacity of 10 MW. Wind takes a bigger share with projects up to 50 MW. Co-generation plants will involve fossil fuels with a capacity not exceeding 20 MW.

There will be two rounds of the tender. Out of the two, solar can compete only in the first round.

The Slovenian Energy Agency or Agencija za Energijo is offering €10 million in incentives for the tender. For the first tender round, for which solar will compete, has been allocated €7 million.

Interested bidders can check the agency's website to get more information about the tender and submit their bids by November 6, 2017.
