The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids for 100 MW of grid connected solar PV projects to come up at Kadapa Solar Park in Andhra Pradesh. These projects will incorporate large scale battery storage.
Divided into two projects of 50 MW capacity each, these projects will be part of the National Solar Mission (NSM) Phase-II, Batch-IV, Tranche-V. The Kadapa Solar Park is being developed as a 1,000 MW strong ultra-mega solar park which will be spread across six villages in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Recently, SECI also tendered 300 MW of solar power capacity plus storage for Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. This capacity is part of the 300 MW of solar power capacity plus storage that SECI was supposed to announce for Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka (see Bid For Solar Plus Storage In India).
SECI announced the 100 MW capacity tender on August 9, 2016. The last date of submission of final bids is 45 days from this date. The announcement can be accessed here.
The remaining capacity of 200 MW, divided into four projects of 50 MW capacity each will be tendered for Pavagada Solar Park in a day or two.
In its role as an implementing agency for solar PV projects under the National Solar Mission (NSM), SECI will be setting up 5,000 MW of solar power capacity under NSM Phase-II, Batch-IV.
In July 2016, SECI had issued request for selection (RfS) documents for 650 MW of grid connected solar PV projects for the Kadapa Solar Park . It has now extended the bid submission deadline for this capacity to September 2, 2016.
