At Renewable Energy India Expo 2025 (REI 2025), TaiyangNews Managing Director Michael Schmela caught up with the senior executives of Goldi Solar, a solar PV manufacturer that’s making news for all the right reasons. The company’s CTO, Mehul Doshi, and Head of Marketing, Kumar Arpit, shared some insights into the company’s rapid growth and future plans.
Doshi explained that Goldi Solar expanded its module manufacturing capacity from 3 GW in June 2024 to 14.7 GW by October 2025. He said the company achieved this by deploying advanced AI and automated inspection systems, fast integrated stringers, and highly automated production lines. Goldi Solar is now moving into cell manufacturing, beginning with a 1.2 GW pilot line based on LPCVD, claiming it is the first company to introduce this technology to the Indian market. Doshi believes it will also be suitable for future xBC and tandem cell technologies. This pilot will lead to a larger 16 GW cell manufacturing project.
Describing the company’s broader market strategy, Arpit said India’s renewable-energy push toward 500 GW by 2030 is encouraging manufacturers to rapidly scale their domestic capacity, and Goldi Solar aims to stay competitive through consistent technology upgrades and quality. He shared that Goldi Solar plans to strengthen its backward integration through large cell manufacturing capacities, as it plans India’s largest single-site solar cell plant with a capacity of over 17 GW.
Arpit also highlighted the company’s move into advanced technologies such as IBC modules.
On markets, Arpit said Goldi Solar is focused on meeting India’s growing solar demand while also entering international markets, including the US, Australia, Africa, and South America, where interest in Indian-made modules is rising.
He also mentioned that the company recently secured investments of over INR 1,422 crore from prominent Indian investors and families, which will support manufacturing expansion, retail growth, and international market entry. Both executives expressed optimism about the company’s trajectory and the broader solar industry.
TaiyangNews is coming back to India with the 2nd edition of the Solar Technology Conference India (STC.I 2026) on February 5 and 6 next year. The event will bring together the who’s who and emerging players in the Indian solar PV manufacturing space. Details are available here.
