RenewSys India Pvt. Ltd. has been active in the solar sector for about 12 years and is counted among the pioneers of the Indian solar PV manufacturing industry. It is present in module manufacturing and is also active on the material side. At Renewable Energy India Expo 2025 (REI 2025), RenewSys Vice Chairman and Managing Director Avinash Hiranandani discussed the company’s strategy going forward in an exclusive conversation with TaiyangNews Managing Director Michael Schmela.

Hiranandani shared that RenewSys began its solar journey producing encapsulants such as Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) and later expanded into Ethylene Propylene Elastomer (EPE) and Polyolefin Elastomer (POE). He added that the company is now prepared to supply next-generation Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) encapsulants. “So we are ready for any solar panel that comes to India,” he asserted.

Hiranandani emphasized that RenewSys is the largest manufacturer of encapsulants and backsheets in India, with its encapsulant production based in Bengaluru.

In addition to materials, RenewSys manufactures solar modules with a combined capacity of about 5.5 GW across facilities in Navi Mumbai and Hyderabad. The company has also started production of TOPCon solar cells at its Hyderabad plant and plans to expand cell manufacturing capacity to around 5.0 GW to 5.5 GW and beyond.

According to Hiranandani, RenewSys’s vertical integration across key components such as encapsulants, cells, and modules provides it a strong competitive advantage. Manufacturing critical materials such as encapsulants and backsheets gives the company deeper technical insight into module design, quality, and reliability. This, he added, supports its position as a leading solar panel supplier in the Indian market.

TaiyangNews is coming back to India with the 2nd edition of the Solar Technology Conference India (STC.I 2026) on February 5 and 6 next year. The event will bring together the who’s who and emerging players in the Indian solar PV manufacturing space. Details are available here
