Avi Mittal, the Founder and CEO of Vivid Green Energy, a new rising star on the Indian solar PV manufacturing landscape, shared the company’s growth plans with TaiyangNews Managing Director Michael Schmela, at the company’s investor reception in Delhi, held on the sidelines of the Renewable Energy India Expo 2025 (REI 2025).
At the event, Mittal announced the company’s upcoming 1.2 GW solar cell manufacturing capacity and the launch of its 200 MW module line, which will be expanded to 600 MW over the next 2 quarters. He said the expansion plans are part of the company’s strategy to create an end-to-end complete solution for renewable energy in India.
Avi Mittal says Vivid Green Energy stands out because the team has 20 years of manufacturing experience through Vivid Electromag, which runs 3 factories. A pioneer in electrical panels in India, moving into renewables was a natural step for Vivid. With advanced technology, partnerships with Chinese companies, and collaborating with Indian consultants like RCT Solutions, the company aims to position itself as a strong, distinct player in India’s fast-growing solar market.
Vivid Green Energy plans to stand out from the crowd by moving into silver paste and graphite production – materials crucial for solar manufacturing and not widely discussed in India yet. Mittal hinted that major announcements are in the offing. Long-term, he believes India’s strong renewable-energy targets ensure that solar will remain the country’s leading power source, and the company aims to grow with that future.
Vivid Green plans to position itself as a mid-sized manufacturer rather than a large GW-scale player. It wants to pursue a sustainable model by handling projects end-to-end, including buying PPAs and bidding for government tenders, which will also support self-consumption. This approach, explained Mittal, will allow the company to avoid competing directly in the open market.
TaiyangNews is coming back to India with the 2nd edition of the Solar Technology Conference India (STC.I 2026) on February 5 and 6 next year. The event will bring together the who’s who and emerging players in the Indian solar PV manufacturing space. Details are available here.
