US based solar and storage projects developer Cypress Creek Renewables (CCR) has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of Jeff Meigel to the position of chief investment officer (CIO).

With a degree in computer science from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, and MBA from Babson College, Meigel will lead the structured finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, investment committee and investment analytics groups at CCR.

He comes to CCR from Brookfield Renewable US where he served as the Senior Vice President of Capital Markets. Here he was responsible for more than $3 billion per annum capital formation and liquidity plan.

Before Brookfield, he worked as the senior vice president of Corporate Development and vice president of Global Capital Markets and Structured Finance at Terraform Power. Meigel has also worked with SunEdison in the past on senior manager positions.

"We know that his experience at the intersection of renewable energy, strategy and finance will help strengthen our company as we continue to grow and work to build a more sustainable world," said CCR CEO Sarah Slusser.

His appointment follows that of William Tres Petmecky as the company's chief financial officer (CFO) in April 2022. With him on the team, Rebecca Cranna is free to focus entirely on her COO responsibilities, the company stated back then.
