Christian Arnold replaces Timo Sillober as EKD CEO, with effect from July 15, 2025
Sillober will remain at EKD until September-end to ensure a smooth leadership handover
Arnold aims to enhance EKD's efficiency and digital capabilities with backing from new owner, Pemberton Asset Management
German solar PV systems installer Energiekonzepte Deutschland GmbH (EKD) has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Christian Arnold, following the company’s acquisition by Pemberton Asset Management in March 2025.
Arnold, the former CEO of solar installation company Eigensonne, has taken over the reins of EKD from Timo Sillober effective July 15, 2025. Sillober has stepped down from the role for personal reasons but will stay on at EKD until September 30, 2025.
According to the management, both Arnold and Sillober will manage a structured transition phase.
In one of his previous roles, Arnold worked as the chief innovation officer at EWE AG, responsible for the development of new products and services along the energy value chain. EKD says that Arnold brings with him his clear eye for operational implementation, customer needs, and market dynamics.
Arnold’s appointment is part of the company’s comprehensive restructuring development as it seeks increased efficiency with the backing of a financially strong investor, Pemberton Asset Management.
EKD believes this acquisition will enhance its competitiveness and will enable it to capture growth opportunities, especially in the development and implementation of future digital technologies in solar. To date, the company has installed over 40,000 systems.
As the new CEO, Arnold admits that the environment is challenging for the overall solar industry. He explained, “The market remains challenging – both politically and economically. But we have laid important foundations in recent months. Now it's time to keep accelerating forward together with our customers, partners, and employees."
He added, “Our mission is to become a system service provider for our customers – with products that appeal to their emotions, function intuitively, and at the same time focus on sustainability and cost-effectiveness.”
