UK based pay-as-you-go (PAYG) solar home solutions company Azuri Technologies Ltd., has appointed Collins Oneko as Operations Director for East Africa. He will support the company's expansion plans for its PAYG solar business in the region for off-grid population.
Azuri caters to rural off-grid communities in sub-Saharan Africa. It allows the users of its solar home systems (SHS) to pay for solar power on a PAYG basis. This system offers solar products to the rural population to replace harmful kerosene without the need for any government subsidies. Azuri runs its operations in 11 countries of sub-Saharan Africa.
Oneko will head the team as part of the senior management defining tools and systems that support customer acquisition and management processes in the region.
Previously, he worked with several multinational companies, including Total, Tetra Pack, Airtel and Diageo.
"The Senior Management Team and rest of the company is delighted to welcome Collins and I look forward to the contribution he will make to progressing our company vision and plans to expand our customer base and services across East Africa and beyond," said Azuri CEO Bransfield-Garth.
