European Energy A/S has announced the appointment of a new Director for its Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) business division under which the company plans to construct 1 GW of renewable capacity annually. Carsten G. Jensen will be in charge of building and developing this division for the Danish renewable energy developer and power producer.

A civil engineer by qualification, Jensen was previously the CEO of Dansk Gas Distribution A/S and before that he held several executive management positions at Danish TSO Energinet.

"It is a privilege to be part of the green transition of the energy sector. I am looking forward to use the knowledge and experience I have gained through my 30 years in the energy sector and to establish an organization that can construct 1 GW in different markets every year," said Jensen. "European Energy A/S has always been good at constructing plants quickly and efficiently. We will use that capability in the future, as we strive to construct 3-4 times as much capacity every year."

Earlier this year in February 2020, European Energy announced bagging a 3 TWh wind and solar power supply deal with RWE in Denmark under a multiyear offtake agreement.
