US-based renewable energy company Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) has appointed an ex-US Army veteran Nate Graham as its chief technology officer (CTO) in a newly created senior leadership role.

"As LRE continues to execute on our high-growth strategy, our reliance on fully integrated systems remains a critical aspect of our program development," said LRE CEO Jason Allen. Graham will report directly to Allen.

In his new position, Graham will be responsible for all aspects of enterprise-wide IT operations, including architecture, development, and infrastructure, and for ensuring seamless alignment between LRE's technology roadmap and strategic objectives.

LRE says Graham will also oversee the utilization of emerging corporate technologies and systems to enhance the company's business model, drive growth, and mitigate risk.

Graham moves to LRE from EnLink Midstream where he served as the vice president of IT and chief information officer (CIO). Before that, he was the chief information security officer (CISO) at Enable Midstream Partners. He also led senior leadership roles at companies like ConocoPhillips and Devon Energy in the past.

A Masters in Energy Management from Oklahoma City University, Graham brings to the table his experience in IT and cybersecurity. Allen adds that his experience will be instrumental in shaping the company's IT operations and accelerating its future technology deployment to strengthen operational resilience.

A portfolio company of Canadian pension fund OMERS' investment arm OMERS infrastructure, Leeward currently operates close to 3 GW of wind, solar and energy storage facilities in the US.
