Leadership Changes At India’s ReNew Power

Leading Indian renewable energy company ReNew Power Limited has announced several changes for its top management team which it says will allow the firm to make the best possible use of growth opportunities in the Indian renewable energy space.

Starting with, the management has elevated Sanjay Verghese to the position of Executive Vice President where he will be heading the company's solar business and report directly to Chairman and Managing Director, Sumant Sinha. Verghese has been with the company for the past two years; previously he worked as COO for Lanco Solar.

ReNew Power's COO Parag Sharma has left the organization to pursue interests outside the company after working here for five years.

Another addition to the management team is Vishal Sehgal who has joined the company's as the Corporate Affairs Head after having worked with several companies in different sectors, including German retail company Metro Cash & Carry.

In August 2019, the management brought in Aditya Birla Private Equity Advisors CEO D Muthukumaran as its new CFO (see ReNew Power Brings In New CFO).

Last year, ReNew revealed its intention to enter the transmission business for which it brought on board Ajay Bhardwaj to set up and build the business.
