Spanish solar power developer and independent power producer Solarpack Corporación Tecnológica has announced the appointment of Luis Alvargonzalez as the company's new chief financial officer (CFO).

In his new role at Solarpack, Alvargonzalez will report to the company CEO Pablo Burgos and will be expected to lead several financial and corporate responsibilities at the company, heading an experienced and veteran team of executives.

An MBA from UC Berkeley, Alvargonzalez comes to Solarpack from Spanish multinational Grupo Ferrovial that's engaged in the business of transport infrastructure and urban services. Here, according to Solarpack, the new appointee was responsible for setting up the company's energy business, executive sizable investments in transmission lines and solar PV projects.

Before Ferrovial, Alvargonzalez worked with Inveravante, an investment company active in a number of industries including energy. Solarpack says Alvargonzalez contributed to building 500 MW renewable energy projects in different geographies and restructured its private equity portfolio.

"Luis brings management skills and an extensive hands-on domestic and cross-border experience in project development, project financing, M&A and asset management that will help Solarpack and EQT deliver its ambitious business plan," said Burgos.
