New Leadership Appointment For India’s RenewSys

Rakesh Singh Joins RenewSys As CEO For Encapsulation & Backsheets Business Division

  • RenewSys has announced the appointment of Rakesh Singh to its senior leadership team  
  • He has joined the group as CEO for its Encapsulants and Backsheets business division  
  • Singh moved to the group from Mahindra Solarize where he was the CEO and executive director  

Vertically integrated solar PV manufacturer in India, RenewSys India Pvt Ltd, has brought on board Rakesh Singh as the new chief executive officer (CEO) for its Encapsulants and Backsheets business division. 

Singh joins the group from Mahindra Solarize where, till recently, he was the CEO and executive director. Previously, he also worked with companies as Vickers Systems, Larsen & Toubro and Modison Metals.  

Supply chain management, domestic and international business, and scaling businesses, acquired over his 30 years of work experience, are the skills he brings to the group.  

The management welcomed the new hire, stating, "Rakesh's skills in effectively implementing strategic plans and initiatives will be key drivers in realizing this vision for RenewSys' Encapsulants & Backsheets business."       

Nandkumar Pai is the company's CEO for PV Cells and Modules, while Group CEO and MD is Avinash Hiranandani.  

RenewSys had 3 GW of total operational encapsulant manufacturing capacity in January 2022 which it said will be expanded to 11 GW in phases (see RenewSys' Encapsulant Output Now 3 GW).  

Its current manufacturing capacity for EVA and POE encapsulants as well as backsheets stands at 4 GW each. For PV modules it touts a 2.75 GW capacity and also operates a 130 MW line for solar cells.
