New Policy Director For SolarPower Europe

  • She comes to SPE from Cepi where she was leading public affairs and communications team

European solar PV lobby association SolarPower Europe (SPE) is adding to its leadership team with the appointment of Claire Couet as its new policy director. Couet will lead the policy team at the association.

Couet will be responsible to build successful advocacy campaigns and coalitions in her new role at the association, with the aim to further the SPE's target to position solar as a key solution to reach climate neutrality in Europe, said the association's CEO Walburga Hemetsberger.

Coming with over 10 years of experience in public affairs in Brussels, Couet will join SPE on September 27, 2021. Till recently, she worked with the Confederation of European Paper Industries (Cepi) as its director of Public Affairs and Communications. In this role, she steered public affairs campaigns in relation to the European Green Deal roll out.

Previously, she also worked as European affairs manager at Kellen and as EU Energy Policy and Public Affairs adviser at Eurelectric.
