Canada headquartered renewable energy company Boralex has announced the appointment of ex-EDP Renewables senior executive Patrick Simon as the company's deputy managing director Boralex Development, Europe.
With immediate effect, Simon joins the Europe Executive Committee as the head of development for Boralex.
Since 2017 till recently, Simon worked with EDP Renewables looking after the French and Belgian operations of the EDP Group subsidiary. Armed with degrees from Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole des Mines de Paris, he previously also worked with RES France and the EDF Group of France in various leadership roles.

Boralex says it is developing a portfolio of 4 GW in wind and solar power projects and over 200 MW in storage facilities. Recently, it commissioned a 9 MW AC solar farm in France that was crowdfunded with 40% of its capital secured this way (see Europe PV News Snippets).
