Pramod Singh has become the CEO of Levanta Renewables after Founder Sudhir Nunes stepped down
Singh will continue to operate as the group CEO of Actis’ gas power platform Bridgin Power
Levanta has also appointed Pankaj Sakhuja as the company’s CIO; he was previously its CFO
Southeast Asia-focused renewable energy company Levanta Renewables has appointed Pramod Singh as its new chief executive officer (CEO) after Founder Sudhir Nunes stepped down from the position.
Nunes founded Levanta Renewables in Vietnam in 2018 with a focus on onshore wind. It caught the eye of London-based global investor Actis that acquired majority stake in the company in 2022 following which Levanta ventured into solar energy space (see Actis Takes Majority Stake In Vietnamese RE Firm).
With Actis’ backing, Levanta has expanded its team from 10 to 75 employees with its regional headquarters in Singapore. Its current portfolio comprises 140 MW of ground-mounted solar assets in Thailand that it owns and operates. It is also advancing 1 GW buy-and-build pipeline of wind, solar, and energy storage projects across Southeast Asia.
According to a company statement, Nunes has taken a break to spend time with family before returning to the sustainable energy sector.
Nunes’ replacement Pramod Singh previously led business development at GE Power and held senior positions at Alstom Power. He is also the group CEO of Bridgin Power, the gas power platform of Actis in Asia. Singh will continue to hold his position at Bridgin.
Levanta has also appointed Pankaj Sakhuja as the chief investment officer (CIO). He was previously the company’s chief financial officer (CFO). Sakhuja is also the group CFO (advisor) for Bridgin Power.
“Both Pramod and Pankaj, who come deep regional and sector experience, are well positioned to take over the reins to lead Levanta in executing its excellent pipeline and to achieve the long-term goals of the company,” stated Levanta’s Board.
