Tennessee, US located independent solar power producer Silicon Ranch Corporation has announced the appointment of Jim Bausell as executive vice president for business development.

Silicon Ranch is the US solar platform for oil and gas company Shell that acquired a 43.83% stake in the company in January 2018 (see Shell Acquires Interest In US PV Developer). Its business model is to develop-to-own all the solar farm projects it builds.

Bausell joins Silicon Ranch from Touchstone Energy where he served as chief operating officer and holds the distinction of coalescing more than 750 electric co-ops into a unified national brand. He is also credited with launching Co-op Web Builder that manages websites for more than 500 utilities.

As part of Silicon Ranch, Bausell will lead the company's ambitious growth strategy as it expands its solar portfolio across the country.

"We have long admired Jim's ability to build powerful brands, inspire high performance teams, and execute a business strategy to serve utility and corporate customers alike. His expertise, experience, and strength of character make him the perfect fit for Silicon Ranch. Our customers and partners will benefit greatly from his involvement, especially those in the rural communities we serve," said Silicon Ranch Co-Founder and CEO Matt Kisber.
