  • He will lead the Spanish group's operations to expand its India portfolio to exceed 5 GW

Spanish solar energy projects developer and operator Solarpack has announced the appointment of a new India Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Sajay K.V. will be on board the company from January 2, 2024.

This move shows the seriousness with which Solarpack is exploring India where it has been operating since 2015. Currently, it operates 8 solar power plants in the country and plans to expand its capacity in this market to exceed 5 GW. It plans to focus on multi-technology renewable energy projects incorporating solar, wind and storage technologies.

Sajay is moving to Solarpack from BrightNight India, the Indian presence of US-based renewables company BrightNight. He was recently replaced by Naveen Khandelwal (see US RE Company Announces New CEO For India Business).

Apart from BrightNight, Sajay has also worked in leadership positions at Hero Future Energies, Siemens Gamesa and Vestas where he oversaw the implementation of over 7 GW of renewable energy projects in India and Sri Lanka.

"My focus is on advancing existing projects like Gorbea and Anboto, with 800 MW combined, and executing our ambitious plan for 5 GW of multi-technology products. Together, we will contribute to India's renewable goals and shape Solarpack's influential role in a cleaner, greener future," said Sajay.

Backed by Swedish investment fund EQT, Solarpack currently operates more than 17 GW project capacity across various continents.
