Ramachandran joins from REE Corporation in Vietnam and previously held leadership roles at JSW Energy and Schindler India & South Asia
His appointment comes as Suzlon transforms from a wind turbine manufacturer into a wind-first full-stack renewable energy company covering wind, solar, BESS, and asset management
India’s Suzlon Group, a wind turbine manufacturer that has now ventured into solar as well as battery energy storage system (BESS) segments, has announced the appointment of Ashok Ramachandran as the new President, India Business and Senior Managerial Personnel.
Ramachandran moves into his new role from Vietnam-based REE Corporation, where he was the Group CEO managing 5 different business lines – energy, water, EPC, air conditioning, and real estate. He also worked with India’s JSW Energy, including as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for 2 years.
The majority of his 2-decade-long career was spent at Schindler Group in various capacities. As the CEO & President—Schindler India and South Asia, Ramachandran led the company’s largest and strategic markets across manufacturing, operations, and R&D.
He joins Suzlon at a time when the group has announced a strategic transformation into a wind-first full-stack renewable energy solutions provider, including solar, BESS, and asset management (see Wind Energy Major Suzlon Expands Into Solar & Storage).
“To lead the India business of a multi billion-dollar renewable energy and India’s No 1 Wind Turbine Manufacturer like Suzlon, at a time when India’s energy transition is accelerating rapidly, is a tremendous responsibility and privilege,” said Ramachandran in a LinkedIn post. “I look forward to strengthening Suzlon's market leadership through sharper execution, operational excellence, deeper customer focus, and scalable growth strategies.”
Ramachandran joined the group on June 4, 2026. He will report to Suzlon Group CEO Ajay Kapur.
