  • Midsummer has announced the appointment of Eric Jaremalm as its next CEO
  • He takes over from Co-Founder Sven Lindström who will now work as the vice CEO
  • Board Chairman Robert Sjöström will also support the company's management regarding operational issues

Swedish solar cell manufacturer Midsummer has found its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from within the group in Co-Founder Eric Jaremalm. He founded the company 20 years ago with Sven Lindström.

Jaremalm was the chief financial officer (CFO) of the group till April 2022 when he decided to move out of the role to focus on its international expansion as vice president. The CFO position was filled by Åsa Jynnesjö in June 2022 (see New Chief Financial Officer For Midsummer).

The new CEO will lead the company as it gets ready to inaugurate its 50 MW Bari-located factory in Italy, and a 200 MW fab in Sweden. It will be funding the Swedish fab with European Commission funding under the 3rd Innovation Fund round. However, it announced 50 job cuts in Sweden to save over SEK 50 million to fund the Italian factory (see Sweden's Midsummer To Lay Off Employees).

"The board believes that Eric Jaremalm contributes with great experience of the company, technical know-how and international sales work. In his various roles in the company, he has shown the ability to focus, prioritize and deliver, which is and will be of great importance for the work going forward," said Midsummer board Chairman Robert Sjöström.

The board Chairman Robert Sjöström will also support the company's management regarding operational issues, including on market and sales.

Late last year, Lindström announced plans to move to a new technical role within the company as technology and business development manager for the group. He will now be responsible for business development and product portfolio, and will assume the role of the company's vice CEO.
