China General Certification Center (CGC) released an analysis report for the Sanmen test base from February to April 2025. As China’s largest mudflat PV test base, this facility conducted a professional comparison between LONGi’s BC module Hi-MO 9 and mainstream TOPCon modules in a marine solar application scenario. The results demonstrate that LONGi’s BC modules achieved comprehensive leadership across two critical dimensions: effective utilization hours (power generation performance) and operating temperature.
Located in Sanmen County, Zhejiang Province, the test base experiences a typical subtropical monsoon climate, with annual temperatures ranging from approximately 5.3°C to 27.9°C and about 1,800 hours of sunshine per year. The mudflat environment simulates common PV application scenarios in coastal areas, monitoring the long-term reliability, weather resistance, and power generation performance of modules under harsh conditions such as high humidity, high salt mist, complex muddy foundations, and tidal effects. Such empirical data holds significant value. Below is a comparison of parameters between LONGi’s HPBC2.0 technology Hi-MO 9 modules and TOPCon modules from a mainstream manufacturer:
① Comparison of Module Effective Utilization Hours
Data from the CGC Sanmen test project show that from February 15 to April 30, 2025, LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 modules achieved a cumulative power generation gain of 1.93% per kilowatt compared to TOPCon modules.
② Comparison of Module Operating Temperatures
Data from the CGC Sanmen test project indicate that during the monitoring period, the average backsheet temperature of LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 modules was approximately 1.26°C lower than that of TOPCon modules, with a maximum temperature difference of 4.13°C.
The CGC Mudflat PV Test Base report marks the first time that the performance differences between BC and TOPCon technologies have been verified in real-world, harsh marine solar conditions. The empirical data robustly demonstrate that LONGi’s HPBC 2.0 technology, embodied in the Hi-MO 9 modules, achieves comprehensive leadership over TOPCon modules in two core metrics: actual power generation capacity (1.93% gain per kilowatt) and operating temperature control (1.26°C lower on average).
These results not only highlight the exceptional adaptability and performance advantages of LONGi’s BC technology in specialized application scenarios such as mudflats and coastal areas but also provide valuable empirical evidence for module selection in PV power stations operating under complex environmental conditions. With their outstanding power generation performance, BC technology products are emerging as a superior solution for coastal mudflat PV projects and will deliver enhanced commercial value over their lifecycle for global customers.
