In today’s rapidly advancing PV landscape, JinkoSolar leverages deep technical heritage and R&D strength to unveil the next-generation Tiger Neo 3.0 high-efficiency module. The product not only achieves major breakthroughs in technical performance—higher efficiency and power, elevated bifaciality and weak-light capability—but also delivers clear economic advantages across all market segments, positioning itself as the new industry benchmark.

1. Tiger Neo 3.0 Outperforms BC on Both Front and Rear Sides

Employing Jinko’s third-generation TOPCon technology, the module reaches 27 % cell efficiency, 24.8 % module efficiency, front-side power 650–670 W with up to 90 % rear-side bifaciality, a –0.26 %/°C temperature coefficient, <1 % first-year degradation, 0.35 % annual linear degradation and a 30-year power warranty—figures that crown today’s mass-produced portfolio. Extensive field data across climates confirm that, thanks to higher bifaciality and outstanding low-irradiance behaviour, TOPCon yields 2–3 % more energy per watt than BC, with the latest N-type TOPCon advancing this lead even further.

2. Enhanced Weak-Light Performance Delivers Higher Revenues under New Tariff Schemes

Independent verification under IEC 61215-2:2021 confirms that JinkoSolar’s N-type TOPCon modules deliver markedly superior energy yield per watt under low-irradiance conditions versus BC modules, enabling owners to capitalise on morning and evening high-tariff sunlight.

In Chengdu—where 90 % of days are overcast—TÜV Rheinland recorded TOPCon’s “early-start, late-stop” behaviour, extending daily generation windows and achieving up to 7.18 % more kWh/W versus N-type BC. A parallel study by China’s National PV Quality Centre in Yinchuan shows 3.89 % (cloudy) and 2.33 % (sunny) gains during the 06:00–09:00 and 17:00–20:00 low-light periods.

3. Root Cause of BC Weak-Light Limitation

TOPCon technology employs a tunnel-oxide layer to optimise parallel resistance (Rsh), thereby reducing leakage-current losses compared with XBC and markedly improving weak-light response efficiency. The tunnel oxide is formed on the cell surface, confining leakage paths mainly to the cell edges rather than the grid area; this design sharply reduces leakage routes, strictly controls parasitic current and enhances overall electrical performance.

By contrast, BC cells place all electrodes on the rear, where material and process limitations prevent complete positive-negative isolation and create overheating risks. To counter reverse-bias effects, BC manufacturers introduce numerous diffusion-free isolation trenches—orders of magnitude more than TOPCon—resulting in a sharp rise in leakage current (up to 200 leakage sites per cell). Under low irradiance, the cell must expend additional energy to initiate power generation, leading to significantly poorer weak-light performance.

4. Higher Bifaciality Drives Greater Front + Rear Energy Yield

TOPCon modules hold a decisive 10–20 % advantage in bifaciality over BC equivalents, enabling superior energy yield across all ground conditions; the higher the albedo, the more pronounced the benefit. Based on the simplified bifacial test formula—front power + front power × bifaciality × rear irradiance—Tiger Neo 3.0 delivers a mainstream bifaciality of 85 %+ while N-type BC modules remain at 70 %. Under STC with 13.8 % ground reflectance, this higher bifaciality alone raises the combined power of third-generation Tiger Neo modules above that of N-type BC by 1 %. In sand-gobi-desert projects where surface reflectance typically reaches 25–30 %, Tiger Neo 3.0 secures an additional 1.5–2 % in combined energy yield from bifaciality alone. Coupled with an extra ~20 W boost in front-side power, the upgraded Tiger Neo 3.0 delivers still greater value to end users.

5. All-Scenario Applicability: Utility, C&I Rooftops and Extreme Environments

Enhanced cell design increases mechanical strength, mitigates micro-cracks and hot-spot risks, and extends service life, making the module suitable for ground-mounted plants, commercial and industrial rooftops, and distributed markets alike.

JinkoSolar remains committed to exploring new application scenarios for PV modules to align with evolving industrial and societal needs. As deserts, gobi, wastelands, subsidence zones, saline-alkali flats, mountains and offshore sites become increasingly diverse, Jinko has developed a full-scenario photovoltaic solution that balances high efficiency with reliability. For the extreme desert environment—characterised by intense ultraviolet radiation, high mechanical loads, large temperature swings and frequent sandstorms—Jinko specifically enhances the modules’ high-temperature tolerance, sand resistance, ultraviolet durability and overall reliability, enabling them to operate stably over the long term under harsh desert conditions while reducing later-stage maintenance costs. At the same time, the exceptionally high conversion efficiency allows more sunlight to be converted into electricity under the intense irradiation typical of desert regions, significantly boosting power generation..

6. Significant LCOE Reduction and Enhanced Product Premium

Reducing LCOE is the central objective of photovoltaic technology development. In bifacial generation scenarios, mainstream TOPCon modules already demonstrate superior overall efficiency, combined energy yield and total customer value compared with N-type BC products, translating into an LCOE (levelised cost of electricity) that is approximately 1.59 % lower and an IRR that is 0.68 %–0.94 % higher. Building on this foundation, JinkoSolar’s Tiger Neo 3.0 further raises front-side power and bifaciality, resulting in an LCOE reduction of about 2 %–3 % in bifacial applications and about 1 %–1.8 % in monofacial applications. Under equivalent LCOE values, third-generation TOPCon products command a global base premium of 1.6–7.4 ¢/W, and when combined with field-proven results this premium can rise as high as 13.78 ¢/W.
