After seeing no movements in Calendar Week 41, a few products listed in the TaiyangNews PV Price Index saw their prices decline in Calendar Week 42.
All listed silicon types maintained their prices from CW41.
While p-type wafers maintained their prices from CW41, the 3 n-type variants were down in the range of 3.3% to 5.4% WoW.
As with polysilicon products, prices for all cell types were stable WoW.
While PERC and HJT module prices were flat WoW, both listed TOPCon module types were down an identical 2.7% from CW41.
The 2 solar glass varieties maintained their prices from CW41.
The TaiyangNews PV Price Index has seen greater price declines upstream than downstream in CY2024. All Chinese polysilicon types have crossed the 39.3% price decline mark YtD. Among wafers, the n-type variants have lost more than half their value thus far this year. The decline for TOPCon 182 mm cell (down 43.8% YtD) is disproportionately higher among cell types. Module prices have declined in the range of 21.8% to 29.4% YtD. And finally, solar glass prices have declined in the 21.4% to 35% range YtD.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
