TaiyangNews PV Price Index – 2024 - CW44

Weekly Overview On Prices For Polysilicon, Wafers, Cells, Modules & Solar Glass

Vikranth

Calendar Week 44 was another one with very little movement for the TaiyangNews PV Price Index, with only one category seeing a change in prices Week-over-Week (WoW).

All listed silicon types continued to maintain their prices both WoW and Month-on-Month (MoM).

While wafer types were flat WoW in CW44, the n-type wafers are down 3.3% to 5.4% MoM.

Like the polysilicon counterparts, all cell prices are stable both WoW and MoM.

As the only category to see any changes this week, the 2 listed PERC bifacial module types were down an identical 1.4% WoW, while the TOPCon bifacial 210 mm variant was down 0.7% WoW in CW44.

The 2 solar glass varieties maintained their prices from CW42.

The TaiyangNews PV Price Index has seen greater price declines upstream than downstream in CY2024. All Chinese polysilicon types have crossed the 39.3% price decline mark YtD. Among wafers, the n-type variants have lost more than half their value thus far this year. The decline for TOPCon 182 mm cell (down 43.8% YtD) is disproportionately higher among cell types. Module prices have declined in the range of 21.8% to 29.4% YtD. And finally, solar glass prices have declined in the 21.4% to 35% range YtD.

The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
