Staying true to the trend over the past few weeks, the TaiyangNews PV Price Index saw minimal price movements in Calendar Week 51
Prices in the polysilicon category were flat both Week-on-Week (WoW) and Month-on-Month (MoM), with the last change recorded in CW39
After 4 weeks of no movement, 2 n-type wafers saw their prices change, with n-type 182 mm up 2.9% and n-type 210R down 4.2% WoW
All cell types maintained their prices WoW in CW51.
After the 210 mm HJT module declined 3.8% in CW50, the module category was flat WoW in CW51.
Solar glass prices were stable in CW51 following a week in which the thicker 3.2 mm variant declined 2.3%.
The TaiyangNews PV Price Index has found relative stability in the latter part of CY2024. Price declines have been higher upstream than downstream. All Chinese polysilicon types have declined a minimum of 39.3% YtD while the older n-type wafers have lost more than half their value. The decline in TOPCon 182 mm cell prices (down 41.7% YtD) is disproportionately higher among cell types. Module prices have declined in the range of 23% to 31.8% YtD. And solar glass prices are down in the 23.2% to 35% range YtD.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
