The TaiyangNews PV Price Index saw some positive price movements in Calendar Week 52 in the wafer, cell, and module categories while solar glass prices experienced high-single-digit drops
Polysilicon prices were flat Week-on-Week (WoW), ending CY2024 with around 40% declines for all polysilicon products.
The n-type 182 mm and 210R wafer prices saw an uptick in CW52, up 2.9% and 4.3% WoW, respectively.
The n-type 182 mm cells were up 1.8% WoW in CW52, while all the other cell types maintained their prices from WoW.
A surprising turn in CW52 was p-type bifacial 182 mm and 210 mm modules seeing positive price movements, up 1.5% and 2.9%, respectively, with the TOPCon 182 mm prices also rising 1.4% WoW.
The last week of CY2024 was a negative one for solar glass prices, with the thicker 3.2 mm variant sliding 9.3% from CW51 and the 2.0 mm glass declining 7.7%.
The TaiyangNews PV Price Index exhibited relative stability in the latter part of CY2024. While price declines in 2023 were largely upwards of 50% throughout the index, only 2 products saw above-50% declines in 2024, with prices for most firming up slightly in the second half of the year.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
