Calendar Week 17 confirmed a break in the upward trend for the TaiyangNews PV Price Index in CY2025, with prices declining across all categories except solar glass.
Having been stable for 14 weeks straight, polysilicon prices saw their first dip this year, with N-Type Chinese Silicon and Granular Silicon declining 6% and 3.8% WoW, respectively.
All 3 n-type wafers were down in the range of 6.5% (n-type 210 mm, 130 µm) to 13.3% (n-type 210R) WoW, while p-type wafer prices continue their absence.
Like wafers, all 3 TOPCon cell types saw declines in CW17, ranging from -3.3% (n-type 210 mm) to -5.1% (n-type 182 mm and bifacial 210R).
While PERC and TOPCon modules were flat WoW, BC modules registered their first declines since their introduction in CW13.
The 2 solar glass varieties remained stable WoW.
CW17 was a continuation of the blip seen in CW16, with declines across the board, barring solar glass. What had been a positive year overall until last week has turned into a mixed one for the TaiyangNews PV Price Index, with 8 listed products up YtD and 5 products down.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
