After a brief pause during the SNEC 2025 week, TaiyangNews returns with the latest PV Price Index, highlighting a largely positive week for upstream players in Calendar Week 25.
Chinese polysilicon prices posted week-on-week (WoW) gains across the board, with increases ranging from 2.8% for n-type silicon to 4.6% for the 9N grade.
In the wafer segment, all n-type formats saw notable price hikes – up 4% for 210 mm and as high as 8.9% for 182 mm. Meanwhile, p-type wafers appear to have exited the market altogether.
TOPCon cell prices also climbed WoW, with n-type 210 mm rising by 3.8% and 182 mm by 6.3%.
Since our last report, the Module category has expanded to include 2 new entries: the 210 mm HJT module (715–730W) and a China Project Price for modules rated above 615W.
Solar glass stands out as the only category to post positive gains so far this calendar year.
Overall, CW25 was a positive week for the PV Price Index, especially upstream. However, the broader year-to-date (YtD) trend remains downward. Of the 26 n-type products currently tracked, only 4 remain in positive territory for the year.
The data refers to average product prices in China. The data was collected by Chinese market research firm Gessey PV Consulting.
