Chinese solar products manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. has announced it achieved a 24.38% top conversion efficiency for its Cheetah cells. At the same time, it said its n-type cells have even reached 24.58% efficiency. These results were confirmed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences already in March 2019.
In May 2018, the Chinese vertically integrated PV module maker increased efficiency to 23.95% for p-type monocrystalline cells using selected emitter and novel passivation technology (see JinkoSolar: 23.95% Cell Efficiency Record).
In May 2019, Germany's TÜV Rheinland confirmed a 469.3 W power rating for JinkoSolar's high efficiency module using 72 monocrystalline cells with a size of 158.75 x 158.75 cell.
Without sharing further details, JinkoSolar claimed it has made significant breakthroughs in the field of high efficiency and high power of cells and modules which has set a new industry standard for peak performance.
In May 2019, JinkoSolar's Cheetah bifacial HC Swan solar module with a transparent backsheet and a 30-year power warranty was selected for the 2019 Intersolar award in Munich (see PV Innovation Scores At Intersolar Europe 2019).
The news about JinkoSolar's technological improvements comes soon after its competitors also released efficiency records – Trina Solar reported a 24.58% efficiency for an n-type monocrystalline i-TOPCon bifacial solar cell and Canadian Solar announced a 22.28% efficiency for a p-type multicrystalline P5 cell (see Trina & Canadian Solar Report Cell Efficiency Records).
