Königsbrunn, Germany-headquartered photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer AE Solar, with satellite offices in Brazil and Georgia, highlighted its latest offerings at Intersolar Europe 2024. The company currently has a PV module manufacturing capacity of 2 GW per year between its facilities in Turkey and China.
Speaking to TaiyangNews, AESOLAR showcased its special application scenario PV modules – ‘Terra’ and ‘Horizon’ series dual-glass PV modules among other offerings.
Vertical PV application
The company displayed its ‘Terra’ series dual-glass n-TOPCon module for the vertical PV application. The module, featuring 132 pieces of 182 x 91 mm size half-cells, boasts a power output of up to 525 W and an efficiency of up to 21.58%. The 1,087 x 2,238 x 30 mm dimension module, laminated with high-transmission front and rear PV glass covers, each 2 mm thick, and the POE-type encapsulant offers suitability in vertical PV applications like agrivoltaics (AgriPV), sound barriers, etc. The bifacial n-TOPCon module, equipped with innovatively designed IP68-rated junction boxes (JB) along the long-side frame, boasts a bifaciality of 80%. Besides ensuring higher energy yield, the model is certified to withstand up to 2,400 Pa of wind and 5,400 Pa of snow load to mitigate the risk of external environmental stresses, emphasized AE Solar. The company is offering 30-year products and 30 years of linear power attenuation warranties for this model. The company said the model, which is in the final ramp-up and certification stage, will be available for sale in Q4 2024. The initial production capacity will be 150 MW with a roadmap to increase the capacity to 250 MW, added AESOLAR.
Besides the above-mentioned product, AESOLAR’s brand-new AgriPV module, featuring 40% transparency, is also under the evaluation stage. This module being promoted is considered for elevated AgriPV systems and goes under the TERRA family.
Carport application
Acknowledging Europe’s growing demand for electric vehicle (EV) charging in car parking or captive charging stations, AESOLAR launched the ‘Horizon’ series dual-glass module. The AExxxCMD-108BDS series dual-glass module, with 108 pieces of 182 x 91 mm n-TOPCon cells, boasts a power output of up to 435 W and an efficiency of up to 22.31%.
