  • SolarUnit, from DAH Solar aims to reduce installation and mounting costs and patented Full-Screen module is finalist for Intersolar AWARD 2023
  • The microinverter and Full-Screen PV module are designed to optimize compatibility and boost system efficiency to 97.55%
  • The module maximizes surface area, minimizes power generation losses from soiling and supports high power output of upto 560 W with an efficiency of 21.67%.

DAH Solar, the market leader of the balcony solar segment, during InterSolar has presented its integrated PV system called SolarUnit. The Full-Screen module, a patented product of the company that powers the system, was also the finalist for the Intersolar AWARD 2023.

SolarUnit is an integrated PV system designed to significantly reduce the installation process and mounting costs, according to the company. The solution has 2 innovative components – a high tech microinverter and a full-screen solar module. The microinverter and the PV module are assembled together at the factory. With the "plug-in" connection, the entire system installation work is significantly reduced. In simple terms, the power output from each module is AC. The system can be hooked up to the balcony fence. The most important features of the product are plug-and-play, ease of installation, and the ability to install PV modules in residential settlements, which do not have exclusive access to the roofs, such as apartments and condos. SolarUnit is offered in 3 power classes – 800 W, 920 W and 1,500 W. To better showcase the ease of installation of SolarUnit balcony mounting, DAH Solar set up a balcony PV simulation display station at Intersolar 2023. It showcased the mounting scenario and the cable wiring demonstration, attracting a lot of attention. The microinverter and the Full-Screen PV module are specially designed for each other, which could boost the max. system efficiency to 97.55%. Not just the total solution, DAH also developed an innovative powering source – the module.

The modules are designed to maximize their surface area and address power generation losses caused by soiling. The design incorporates a minimal frame edge on the front side of the module, with the front glass attached to a wide frame surface at the back. The 1/3rd cell interconnection layout supports low current output, thus reducing losses. This design not only enhances the visual appeal of the modules but also enables them to support high power of up to 560 W, corresponding to an efficiency of 21.67%. At SNEC 2023, the company launched the TOPCon variant of the module (see Germany's VDE Offering Balcony PV Certification).

During the TaiyangNews virtual conference on Advanced Solar Module Technologies DAH Solar's Sales Director, Europe presented Integrated Module Solutions For Balcony Systems And Residential Applications.
