Citizen Solar Private Limited, a part of Citizen Group, showcased its latest products and outlined its growth strategy at Renewable Energy India Expo 2025 in Greater Noida, India.

During an interview with the TaiyangNews team, General Manager of Citizen Solar, Sunayan Borah, highlighted the official launch of a new TOPCon module and shared the company's roadmap for expanding manufacturing capacity.

Product

The showcased Enlight series module, featuring 132 half-cut TOPCon cells, delivers a maximum of 630 W of power and an efficiency of up to 23.2%. It uses cells with a 16-busbar (16BB) metallization layout. This product carries a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty.

Regarding manufacturing, Borah noted that the company maintains its quality standards at the factory through required checks and inspections.

Capacity Expansion

The company's current annual PV module production capacity stands at 1.2 GW. Borah confirmed plans to utilize new machinery to double this capacity to 2.6 GW by January 2026.

Market Strategy & Certifications

Citizen Solar says that its modules are supplied globally, with a specific focus on the domestic market. These are listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), meaning that the model and its manufacturer (Citizen Solar) have been certified by India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). This certification makes it eligible for use in all government-sponsored, subsidized, or public-sector PV projects in the country.

The company added that the modules conform to major national and international design and safety standards – Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). While the IEC standards (typically IEC 61215 and IEC 61730) facilitate the module’s acceptance in global markets, the BIS certifies it for domestic use.

Borah states that these modules are primarily marketed across major states of India, such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Assam. He emphasized that the company places major focus on after-sales support.

In addition, the company has its own environmental goals with an intention to ‘serve Mother Earth’ and contribute to climate action. The company has appointed Indian actor Pratik Gandhi as its new brand ambassador and acknowledges the role of the Prime Minister in promoting the renewable energy sector.
