  • Fox ESS’s H3 Pro series hybrid inverter is designed to support up to 200% DC/AC oversizing to maximize solar harvesting in real time

  • It has a rated conversion efficiency of up to 99.2%

  • On the application side, it supports peak shaving, load shifting, emergency backup, and integration with VPP aggregators

Chinese PV inverter and storage solutions maker Fox ESS has launched its H3 Pro 3-phase hybrid inverter, targeting the growing demand for commercial & industrial (C&I) solar-plus-storage applications.

Comprising 3 MPPT channels and dual independent battery inputs, this inverter is rated for a power output (AC) range of 15 kW to 30 kW, offering up to 5 choices (power classes) to C&I prosumers. It is designed to allow up to 200% DC/AC oversizing relative to the rated AC capacity, covering a PV input range of 30 kW to 50 kW, to maximize solar harvesting even in low-light conditions, like overcast, late afternoon, or early morning. This harvested energy is either stored in a battery or inverted to AC power with a peak conversion efficiency of 99.2%.

For larger commercial installations, the platform supports scalable battery integration. By combining 2 battery stacks, each composed of multiple battery modules, the system can accommodate total storage capacities of up to 144 kWh, enabling applications such as peak shaving, load shifting, and backup power. The platform is also designed to support virtual power plant (VPP) integration and is compatible with major aggregation and energy management platforms. The company adds that the inverter features a frequency-shift capability that enables off-grid operation, allowing it to support standalone and backup power applications.

It integrates a display and a single current transformer (CT) meter for system setup, performance monitoring, and real-time energy measurement. For remote communication interfaces, it includes built-in Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity, enabling system monitoring and data exchange, while eliminating the need for third-party communication devices.

This inverter measures 600 × 560 × 225 mm and is housed in an IP65-rated enclosure, weighing 52.5 kg. The operating temperature range extends from -25 °C to +60 °C, with allowable relative humidity levels from 0% to 95% and installation altitudes of up to 4,000 m. Its rated operational acoustic noise levels are specified at below 45 dB or 55 dB, depending on the model and C&I applications.
