Ginlong Solis, a well-known Chinese solar inverter and energy storage solution provider, highlighted the latest inverter and energy storage offerings at Intersolar Europe 2024. Established in 2005, the company with its production bases in China, has become one of the major players in the photovoltaic (PV) inverter segment.

Speaking to TaiyangNews, the company introduced its newest 3-phase 50 kW commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage system - S6-EH3P(29.9-50)K-H.

Performance

This latest hybrid inverter offers 4 different AC power classes between 29.9 kW to 50 kW. The highest capacity model, featuring 4 MPPT of 150 V to 850 V wide voltage range and up to 40 A DC input current capacity each, boasts AC output power up to 50 kW and grid output current of 72.2 A in on-grid mode.

This model’s 2.0 times AC/DC overload capacity underscores adequate PV charging of the connected battery bank after the inverter’s self-consumption, resulting in a longer power backup, emphasized Solis. The connected Li-ion battery bank, featuring voltage range of 150 V to 800 V and a charging/discharging power capacity of up to 55 kW, is connected to the inverter through 2 battery input ports. The company noted that its battery’s charging/discharging current capacity of up to 140 A or (70 x 2) A underscores the suitability of the 280 AH battery cell’s standard 0.5C application condition. Any occurrence of a grid outage will activate the inverter’s backup mode or generator mode in less than 10 milliseconds of switching time, followed by an AC output current of up to 72.2 A for a longer backup period.

Safety

The latest model features all the required safety functionality – anti-islanding protection, output overcurrent protection, short circuit protection, integrated DC switch, DC reverse polarity protection, and surge protection. Solis noted that it provides a DC type II fuse-less surge protection device (SPD) on the DC input side, while the AC input side features an AC type II SPD to mitigate the risk of overvoltages. The company can provide an automatic fire control indicator (AFCI 2.0) upon request of the clients.

Reliability

This latest model’s IP66-rated outer structure underscores the hybrid storage system’s suitability for outdoor applications. Its wide range of operating temperatures of -25 ℃ to + 60 ℃ and relative humidity of up to 95% ensure the model’s safe and reliable outdoor operation.

Commercial availability

Both the 30 kW version for the 3-phase 208 V to 220 V range and the IEC version of 40 kW and 50 kW capacity under 380 V 3-phase system voltage will be available from July 2024, confirms Solis. For the country that needs 440 V or 480 V system voltage configuration under the UL version, will be commercially available by the end of 2024.

Alongside the latest 3-phase C&I scale hybrid energy storage system, Solis showcased other new products – a 3-phase low voltage energy storage inverter, 1500V Utility-scale Grid-tied inverter, balcony solar inverter, and 3-phase grid-tied inverter, at the show.
