GoodWe, one of the key players in energy storage and inverter solution providers, recently expanded its offerings in building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) solutions. Offering for different BIPV application scenarios, the company calls itself a comprehensive one-stop PV-building solution provider, from inverters to customized BIPV modules. The company exhibited multiple application-specific BIPV solutions at the recently concluded SNEC 2024 event in Shanghai, China.

Commercial & Industrial (C&I) BIPV solution

Speaking to TaiyangNews, GoodWe highlighted its latest expansion in the double-glass ultra-lightweight Galaxy series 355 W and 440 W BIPV frameless models suitable for low-load bearing and poor waterproofing roofs. The 355 W model, with 1.6 mm tempered glass covers coupled with 88 pieces of n-TOPCon half-cells, offers an efficiency of 21.4%. The company says the module weighs only 9.3 kg with a mass density of 5.6 kg/m2, much less than traditional PV modules. On the other hand, its 440 W frameless model, with its 108 pieces of n-TOPCon half-cells and a 1.6 mm tempered glass cover, offers module efficiency of 21.4% and a light weight of 11 kg. The latest Galaxy series 355 W and 440 W models, available in dimensions of 2,135 x 777 x 3.5 mm and 2,275 x 905 x 3.5 mm respectively, are best suited for low-load bearing C&I roof applications. The 1.6 mm tempered glass cover on both modules provide better durability and safety against extreme environmental stresses like wind and hail impact compared to the traditional flexible modules. The modules’ reliability and improved power generation can be attributed to their dust-free frameless design, which mitigates the risk of localized hotspot formation and lower power generation. GoodWe said that its Galaxy series model’s zero-penetration installation method of clamping or gluing provides roof protection against any water leakage and enables quick installation over the roof.

Residential application

Acknowledging the demands of pitched roof residential BIPV applications, GoodWe introduced its Sunshine series solar tiles. At the recent event, the company showcased its expanded Sunshine series in power classes between 115 W and 150 W. Its 40 pieces of mono PERC half-cells inside the valley of a 2,060 x 444 x 25 mm tin roof sheet covered with double tempered glass offers a one-stop solution for roofs with very complicated angles, explained GoodWe. The latest aesthetically friendly Sunshine series offers an efficiency of 17.2%/m², said the company, adding that its fire-proof double-tempered glass configuration ensures the safety of the roof structure against any fire risk. The innovative design also improves roof ventilation and heat dissipation, keeping the room temperature 2℃ below theambient temperature, added GoodWe.

Carport or flat-to-pitched roof application

GoodWe also introduced its latest Polaris series 580 W to 630 W double-glass BIPV modules with innovative water drainage designs suitable for the carport, sunshade, or flat-to-pitched roof applications. The 630 W model with 156 pieces of n-type TOPCon half-cells offers an efficiency of 21.6% and a dimension of 2,505 x 1,160 x 29.6 mm, underscoring its suitability in Carport or flat-to-pitched roof applications. Its innovative interlocking frame design ensures the consecutive panels are interlocked, making it waterproof, says GoodWe. This innovative interlocking design also optimizes installation time by just sliding the clamps into the gutter of the tray of the panel and locking it on the purline structure.
