South Korean solar PV cell producer Hanwha Q Cells says it has surpassed 10 GW of Q.Antum solar cell production making it the 'first time ever for any PERC technology'. It will exit 2018 having produced over 2.5 billion individual such cells since it commercialized the technology in 2012.
The company has been using its Q.Antum proprietary solar cell technology, that uses passivated emitter rear-side cell (PERC) technology, for its Q.Peak and Q.Plus module series. Hanwha has over 5 GW of global Q.Antum annual cell production capacity. It will now be chasing the 20 GW milestone. In May 2018, it announced a module factory in Georgia, United States that will use its PERC technology (see Hanwha Q Cells Plans US Module Factory).
