  • Management says these modules will be commercially available in the second half of 2020

JA Solar Co., Ltd. has announced achieving more than 525 W of solar module output for its high-efficiency solar modules under standard testing conditions. This, the vertically integrated module manufacturer claims, is a new industry record.

The Chinese company does not specify the kind of module technology or the series that it has achieved this feat for. These modules will be commercially available in H2/2020.

Management says these 'ultra-highly powerful' PV modules are designed to meet customer's desire and demand for further reducing the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) and maximizing the economic value of PV systems for renewable energy generation.

"The latest breakthrough in module power output is another milestone in JA Solar's efforts to enhance product performance and boost customers' long-term economic benefits," said Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of JA Solar, Jin Baofang. "In the future, we will continue focusing on the technological innovation of our products to drive the development of the photovoltaic industry, and allow more people to enjoy the benefits of the clean energy."

In April 2020, JA Solar said it will raise RMB 5.2 billion through private placement for 5 GW high efficiency monocrystalline PERC bifacial solar cell and 10 GW module capacity in line with its plans to expand to 16 GW of solar module production capacity by the end of 2020 (see JA Solar To Raise RMB 5.2 Billion For Bifacial Capacity).
