TaiyangNews, in partnership with back contact PV specialist AIKO, will host an offline Solar Workshop on November 13, 2025, in Munich, Germany. The session will explore Back Contact Technology and its potential in European C&I and residential rooftop markets. This is an invitation-only event. Click here to register, and we will contact you.
TaiyangNews will be back with another Virtual Conference on Reliable PV Module Design 2025 on November 6, 2025, as solar PV industry experts come together to discuss balancing innovation, cost, and reliability. Registrations are open here!
During a panel discussion with TaiyangNews’ Shravan Chunduri, JA Solar’s Francesco Liuzza emphasized the need for clear policies and standards to speed up adoption. AESOLAR's Hamed Hanifi added that technology, regulation, and mindset all play crucial roles, noting that while advanced modules are still niche, they hold the potential to become major markets.
Christian Comes, Head of Business Development Europe at Huasun Energy, called vertical PV the most profitable solar topology today. He noted it offers stronger price protection, a lower CapEx/OpEx than trackers or batteries, and also brings higher immediate returns.
ATMOCE’s Product Manager, Alec Curry, highlighted the versatility of the company’s solar module inverters. With features like dedicated MPPT per panel, low-voltage operation (<60 V DC), rapid shutdown, and module-level isolation, these inverters keep systems efficient, even if a single panel underperforms. This makes them well-suited for a wide range of installations, from building-integrated solar to farm rooftops.
Millie Tan, International Sales Director at Gain Solar, walked us through BIPV technology and its role in green buildings. From roofs and façades to extra functional layers and surrounding structures, BIPV turns building surfaces into energy generators. Challenges? It needs special architectural planning and comes with higher upfront costs, but the payoff for sustainable buildings is huge, she stressed.
Becquerel Institute Business Analyst Juan Ignacio Martinez highlighted that agricultural land offers the largest potential for integrated PV (IPV) in Europe. AgriPV leads the pack, with projections ranging from 1 TW under strict regulations to over 3 TW by 2050 if policies are relaxed. Growth accelerates after 2035, driven by policy support, maturing technology, and alignment with farming practices, making agriPV a key driver of Europe’s solar future.
AESOLAR's Director of Technology and Innovation, Hamed Hanifi, highlighted carport and vertical PV as 2 of the most promising markets in solar today. He stressed that these applications offer strong economics for investors and open doors for mass producers – but each setup benefits from slight optimization to fit the scenario. AESOLAR is already targeting both, with n-type TOPCon Horizon modules for carports and TERRA modules delivering up to 580 W for vertical installations.
Francesco Liuzza, Senior Technical Sales Engineer at JA Solar, highlights the manufacturer's DeepBlue 4.0 DesertBlue modules, featuring self-cleaning surfaces, anti-sand coating, high load tolerance, and heat resistance. With 650 W output and 24% efficiency, tests show 32% less glass transmittance decay versus standard modules.
In his keynote, Shravan Chunduri says solar is much more than just about cost – it improves quality of life without affecting the end-user. By tweaking module BOMs, manufacturers are making solar suitable for deserts, floating PV, snow, and humid conditions, opening up huge application possibilities.
Shravan Chunduri, TaiyangNews Head of Technology, kickstarts the event by listing the various new advanced solar module applications – from BIPV and floating PV to balcony panels and even solar fences, the possibilities are endless. This isn’t just product evolution – it’s rethinking how solar fits into our daily lives, he adds!
TaiyangNews events rarely end without an engaging panel discussion, and today is no exception. Today’s virtual conference will wrap up with a panel discussion with JA Solar’s Senior Technical Sales Engineer, Francesco Liuzza, and AESOLAR's Director of Technology and Innovation, Hamed Hanifi, in conversation with TaiyangNews Head of Technology Shravan Chunduri. Don’t miss their talk on how the solar industry can accelerate advanced solar module adoption.
A series of engaging presentations awaits from leading PV industry players, beginning with a keynote by TaiyangNews Head of Technology, Shravan Chunduri, who will explore how solar PV modules are moving beyond traditional applications – setting the tone for the next 3.5 hours.
