Bye Bye SNEC 2025

After an exciting week at SNEC 2025, TaiyangNews sat down with the event's founder and organizer Mme Mi Yue to review the world's largest solar and battery storage show, which recorded >500,000 entries of people during the 3 days and showed tons of innovation (which we will discuss at our upcoming webinar on June 24 & 26, 2025. Though very tired, we are already looking forward to return in 2026, when SNEC will take place from June 3-5.

Jetion’s Flexible N-Type Modules

At SNEC 2025, Jetion Solar showcased its lightweight flexible n-type modules, delivering up to 580 W of power and 23.5% efficiency. Weighing only 2.7 kg/m², these modules are backed by a 12-year product and a 25-year power warranty – making them ideal for rooftops and weight-sensitive solar projects, stated the manufacturer.  

JinkoSolar’s Latest Tiger Neo III Module

At SNEC 2025, JinkoSolar unveiled its latest Tiger Neo III TOPCon module featuring HOT 4.0 technology and a 20BB design. A company representative told TaiyangNews that the module integrates anti-PID and low LID/LeTID features to minimize optical and electrical losses, delivering up to 670 W output, 24.8% efficiency, and an 85% bifacial ratio.

25.9% Efficiency For LONGi's HIBC 700W Module

Chinese PV giant LONGi launched its new Hybrid Interdigitated Back-Contact (HIBC) solar module, boasting an over 700 W power output using a 2,382 × 1,134 mm format. Incorporating features of both HJT and back contact technologies, LONGi claims a breakthrough module efficiency of 25.9% for this module, saying that it pushes commercial solar into the “25%+ era” for mass-produced solar modules. It is also the first time that LONGi says it offers a power density of the module that’s as high as 259 W/㎡. 

New Sturdy Tracker Offering from Antai

At SNEC 2025, Chinese solar tracker manufacturer Antai Solar introduced its flagship AT-Spark 1P tracker, featuring a large-radius octagonal torque tube and SmartTrail control system for ultra-long arrays, designed to protect from extreme weather conditions. It ensures high performance in tough conditions, stated the company while speaking with TaiyangNews. Antai said it ranked 9th in Wood Mackenzie’s 2024 global tracker shipment report.

Tongwei Solar Growing Strong in the Module Market

Global leader in high-purity polysilicon and solar cell production, Tongwei Solar, entered the solar module space only recently, but it’s already present across all major PV technologies. By the end of 2024, the company had scaled its module production capacity to an impressive 85 GW. In the latest TaiyangNews TOP SOLAR MODULES Listing, Tongwei claimed the 6th spot with its 715 W HJT module, offering a high commercial efficiency of 23%. Notably, it earned the TaiyangNews Badge of Excellence for the 2nd year in a row.

TOPCon Dominates, Others Rising

As Day 3 – the final day – of the world’s largest solar event, SNEC, gets underway, the TaiyangNews team observed a clear industry trend: manufacturers are firmly backing TOPCon as the PV sector’s go-to technology. At the same time, back contact and HJT are gaining momentum, supported by strong players with huge economies of scale. There’s also growing confidence in perovskite technologies. Notably, interest in energy storage solutions is even higher this year than last.

LONGi Driving Back Contact Technology

Solar PV industry giant LONGi continues to promote back contact (BC) technology with its proprietary Hybrid Passivated Back Contact (HPBC) cell built on TaiRay wafers. Ranked 2nd on the latest TaiyangNews TOP SOLAR MODULES Listing, its Hi-MO 9 module currently delivers 24.2% commercial efficiency. Building on this, and following its 2024 TaiyangNews Badge of Excellence awarded by TaiyangNews at SNEC 2025, the company is preparing to roll out a higher-spec Hi-MO 9 variant rated at 24.4% efficiency and 660 W.

Boosting Back Contact PV Quality Standards

TaiyangNews Managing Director Michael Schmela moderated a panel with LONGi VP & President of the company‘s utility business group Dennis She and Chief Technical Expert of TUV Rheinland Dr. Jason Gao on the occasion of a strategic cooperation agreement to work on promoting the upgrade of quality standards in the PV industry as high efficiency back contact technology gains market shares towards becoming a mainstream technology.

At SNEC 2025, TaiyangNews Global Head of Sales Min GE led a high-level Executive Panel focused on fostering industry collaboration to advance the back contact ecosystem. Among the prominent participants was LONGi Founder Li Zhenghuo sharing insights on the prospects of the technology for the future.

JinkoSolar Champions TOPCon, Eyes Tandem Future

JinkoSolar, a powerhouse in global solar PV manufacturing, has long dominated module shipments. After phasing out PERC, it’s now fully focused on n-type TOPCon, achieving 22.65% efficiency in 2023. With steady gains expected, Jinko aims to keep TOPCon mainstream through 2027 before shifting to tandem cells. Its consistent leadership earned it the TaiyangNews Badge of Excellence 2024.

Astronergy’s Steady Climb With A Focus On TOPCon

Astronergy secures the 6th spot and earns a Badge of Excellence for the second consecutive year.

A TOPCon proponent, Astronergy steadily boosted its TOPCon efficiency from 22.5% with ASTRO N5 in 2023 to 22.9% for a 640 W version. SPIC’s Andromeda 3.0 TBC module now features a 22.8% efficiency at SNEC 2025

The company improved the module’s performance by 0.5% absolute in September 2023 – a move that earned it the TaiyangNews Badge of Excellence at SNEC 2025.

Huasun Sets New Benchmark for HJT Efficiency

Huasun pushed the bar even higher by boosting its commercial HJT module efficiency from 23.18% to a record 23.5%—the highest ever for HJT technology

A leading force in the heterojunction (HJT) segment, Huasun Energy stands out with an impressive 20 GW of cell and 20 GW of module production capacity. The company has consistently featured on the TaiyangNews Top Modules commercial efficiency list for three years running. In June 2025, Huasun pushed the bar even higher by boosting its commercial HJT module efficiency from 23.18% to a record 23.5%—the highest ever for HJT technology. JA Solar Tops TOPCon Efficiency

A consistent leader in the industry for over 20 years, JA Solar leads the pack in TOPCon technology, securing the highest commercial module efficiency for TOPCon technology with 23.2% in the TaiyangNews Top Solar Module Listing. The company boosted its top-performing TOPCon module from 23% to 23.2% while increasing its power output by 5W to 600W—earning the 5th spot overall in the latest ranking. A recipient of the TaiyangNews Badge of Excellence 2024, JA Solar now boasts an impressive annual module production capacity of over 100 GW.

Starting strong with a 22.4% efficient module in June 2023, DMEGC Solar quickly bumped it up to 22.45% the following month. By the first half of 2025, the company had officially joined the 23% efficiency club, earning 6th place on the TaiyangNews Top Solar Modules Listing with its n-type TOPCon bifacial Infinity RT series. With 23 GW cell and 21 GW module capacity as of end-2024, DMEGC is steadily solidifying its global presence—earning a well-deserved TaiyangNews Badge of Excellence 2024.

Back contact (BC) solar module pioneer AIKO has firmly held the top spot on the TaiyangNews Top Solar Modules Listing for more than two years—ever since March 2023 when the company launched its commercial modules. It all began with an impressive 23.6% efficiency for its all back contact (ABC) modules. AIKO then went on to break its own records: first reaching 24% in June 2023, 24.2% in May 2024 with its Comet 2U series, and now setting a new benchmark with 24.4% commercial module efficiency, thus earning the TaiyangNews Badge of Excellence 2024!
