TaiyangNews is proud to announce that its Managing Director, Michael Schmela, has received the Global Smart Energy 'Leader of the Year' Award 2026. The annual award is presented by the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA), the China Global Green Energy Industry Council (GGEIC), GBESC, and the New Energy Industry Association for Asia and the Pacific (NEIAAP). Schmela receives this award for outstanding contributions to the progress of the global solar industry.

The award ceremony took place at the Global New Energy Exhibition and Conference Center (GNEEC), SNEC’s new knowledge-exchange hub in Shanghai, on the eve of SNEC 2026, the world’s largest solar and energy storage trade show. The ceremony brought together executives from national, regional, and global photovoltaic and battery storage associations.

Accepting the award from Qun Wang, APVIA Secretary and Yan-Long Liu, Secretary-General of the Global Energy Storage and Battery Council, Schmela emphasized the importance of international cooperation in these worrying times. “At a time when the world is sadly drifting quickly apart, it is essential to have platforms that enable and foster communication and business among international stakeholders in the solar and storage sectors,” he said. “We are pleased to have co-organized, together with SNEC, the first Solar & Storage Procurement Briefing at GNEEC, bringing together leading manufacturers and their customers to provide a preview of the latest innovations showcased at the trade show.”

With solar and energy storage serving as the 2 key pillars of the energy transition, the industry must continue to find ways to accelerate the deployment of affordable, sustainable, and secure energy solutions for all, according to Schmela.

Halm Introduces Shadowless EL Inspection System

Halm, a supplier of solar cell testing equipment, is presenting its new developments in cell testing and inspection. The company says its flash system features a guaranteed lifetime of 10 million flashes, helping reduce lamp replacement frequency and associated downtime. Halm also has a shadowless electroluminescence (EL) inspection system on display. According to the company, this technology suppresses contact-bar shading, making the full active cell area visible during inspection. It can be integrated into any HALM IV cell tester and combines IV and EL testing within a single measurement station.

Singsun Showcases Flexible PV Support Structure

Jiangsu Guoqiang Singsun Energy is showcasing its flexible solar mounting structure at the exhibition. The single-layer suspension cable design is intended for terrain slopes of up to 40° and spans of up to 25 m. According to the company, the structure uses approximately 25 tons of steel per MW and can increase land utilization by about 30% compared with conventional mountain PV support systems. The system is designed for wind speeds of up to 47 m/s and supports module tilt angles of up to 35°.

HYPSET Showcases Flexible PV Support Structure and Tracking Solutions

Chinese solar tracker and flexible mounting manufacturer HYPSET is showcasing its flexible PV support structure. The company specializes in cable-structured PV support systems and intelligent solar trackers designed for challenging terrain conditions. The company's booth features a large-span flexible mounting structure for utility-scale solar applications, highlighting its focus on solutions for complex project environments.

Antaisolar Displays 2P Solar Tracker and Rooftop Mounting Systems

Antaisolar is showcasing its TAI-Universal single-axis tracker. The 2P system is compatible with 182 mm, 210R, and 210 mm modules and supports up to 120 modules per row. According to the company, the tracker offers a tracking range of ±60° and supports up to 4 strings per row in 1,500 V systems. It can be deployed on north-south slopes of up to 15%. The system is designed for wind speeds of up to 60 m/s. It features independent row controllers, string-powered operation, and remote monitoring capabilities. In addition to its utility-scale tracking solution, Antaisolar also displayed its ALTRA rooftop mounting portfolio, including mounting systems for metal and tile roofs.

ESET Showcases Tracking and Mounting Solutions

At SNEC 2026, ESET showcased its ESEEK-Climber Independent Single-Axis Tracking System for utility-scale applications. The tracker offers a ±60° tracking range and 20% north-south slope tolerance. It is rated for a maximum design wind speed of 70 m/s. ESET also presented a cable-based solar mounting structure as part of its product portfolio. The company is collaborating with partners in India as it expands its presence in the market.

Sungrow Launches PowerMatrix Inverter Platform at SNEC 2026

Sungrow has introduced its new inverter platform, PowerMatrix, which integrates PV and energy storage and supports dynamic energy routing and grid-forming control. The architecture is designed for multiple energy inputs and pathways, and for coordinated operation among PV, storage, the grid, and loads. The company claims this architecture can reduce BOS costs by more than 10% through system integration and simplified project design. Sungrow promotes this product for utility projects, microgrids, and data center applications.

Deye’s Showcase for Home Appliances

Ningbo Deye Technology Co., Ltd., a provider of PV inverters and storage solutions, participates in SNEC 2026 with a range of solar-driven products for home appliance applications.

 For domestic air conditioners, the company is showcasing split- and cassette-type ACs powered by PV energy. Also on display are a solar heat pump, a floor console heat pump, and a solar inverter condensing unit. In addition, the company is promoting its range of solar pumps for cultivation.

Haier Energy’s Split-Phase Hybrid Inverter for the US

Haier Energy, the renewable energy arm of Haier Group, is showcasing 2 types of cabinet-based ESS for C&I applications.

 The one developed for AIDC applications comes with a full black cabinet. The larger counterpart features 5 vertically integrated battery banks, a PCS, and a BMS in a single enclosure. The company is also exhibiting an EV charger at its booth.

A highlight is its MC Agent Split-Phase Hybrid Inverter, developed for the US market. Its PV capacity is 200% of its rated full-load capacity, maximizing solar harvesting. It can switch to emergency backup mode within 4 ms of a grid outage.

GREAT POWER's Products for C&I and Utility Storage

BESS manufacturer GREAT POWER is showcasing its latest cabinet and container-based products, targeting C&I and utility applications.

 Targeting the C&I segment, the Magna-C&I-260 ESS is rated for a storage capacity of up to 260 kWh, and the Magna-C&I-520 is rated for 520 kWh. The Magna-UTL-418 series is designed for the utility segment, offering up to 418 kWh of storage capacity. Also on display is the Max-20HC-5000 series model

TCL’s Commercial & Future Wafer Variants

TCL Solar, part of TCL TZE, is showcasing 2 concept products: an ultra-thin (35 µm) flexible wafer and an ultra-large 210 × 223 mm wafer. Among the commercially available wafer variants, the company is exhibiting Exclusive, Green, Peak, Custom, Anchor, and Value Series.

YONERGY’s ‘All-in-One' PV + ESS + EV Charging Cabinet

Guangxin-based solar-plus-storage solution provider YONERGY TECHNOLOGY is promoting its latest 60 kW/115 kWh PV + ESS + EV charging product under a single cabinet. This ‘All-in-One' model features folded PV modules on top of the cabinet, which can be unfolded by a hydraulic mechanism during field operation. On the storage side, equipped with 280 Ah LFP cell-based battery packs, it can charge or discharge up to 115 kWh of energy. It is equipped with a bidirectional power conversion system (PCS), which AC-couples to the storage system with the grid. Its PV side features 4 MPPT channels with a maximum of 90 kW DC capacity. The AC output side is rated for up to 60 kW at full load. In addition, the cabinet has a dedicated EV charging port with an external cable.

HiTHIUM’s Latest 8-Hour Backup AIDC ESS

The showstopper of HiTHIUM’s booth at SNEC 2026 is its latest long-duration energy storage (LDES), ∞Power 6.9 MWh, targeted at AI data centers. According to the company, the BESS is housed in a 20-foot container and equipped with 1,300 Ah battery cells. Each container unit can deliver up to 6.9 MWh of continuous discharge power for up to 8 hours. Alongside the LDES, the company is promoting its battery cells, including a sodium-ion technology-based product.

MIDEA Promotes Latest Home Storage Products

MIDEA Group, a Chinese home appliance giant, is showcasing a wide range of residential energy storage products at the show. It promoted 2 types of low-voltage hybrid inverters for standalone home ESS: 3-6 kW and 8-12 kW. The company is pitching battery stacks for both models. There is also a 1-phase off-grid inverter on display, with a capacity range of 6.2-12 kW. In addition, MIDEA's stall features a high-capacity 3-phase hybrid inverter with continuous full-load power of up to 30 kW. These home storage products can be integrated with the company’s energy management system for real-time monitoring and operations. According to the company, this home hybrid storage system can be linked to the consumer’s heat pump.

Ganfeng LiEnergy’s Stall Features Air & Liquid-Cooled ESS

Ganfeng LiEnergy, an LFP cell technology-based ESS provider, is highlighting its 2 new storage systems. The RFE-59KM12-001 series product, consisting of 206 Ah LFP cell-based battery packs, is rated for a charging and discharging capacity of 118 kWh. This air-cooled ESS can deliver a 3-phase full-load backup power output of up to 50 kW during grid outages or failures. The higher-capacity peer, GF125KW 261kWh 02A S, featuring 314 Ah LFP battery packs, boasts a liquid-cooled storage system of 125 kW/261 kWh.

Stäubli Expands Into Battery Plug Connector

Stäubli International AG, a leading global company in electrical components and connector solutions, has expanded its product portfolio from PV connectors to include battery plug connectors. The company unveiled its BCC-Evo connector, which has a maximum system operating voltage of 2,000 V and a maximum continuous full-load current of 350 A.

YOUNGY ENERGY Displays Liquid-Cooled ESS

YOUNGY ENERGY, a China-based Bloomberg Tier 1 ESS manufacturer, is exhibiting its latest products at the ongoing exhibition. It is mainly promoting 2 liquid-cooled single-enclosure-based ESS: 512 kWh and 418 kWh. According to the company, the higher capacity version is currently commercially available. YOUNG ENERGY is also previewing a containerized BESS model with up to 9.2 MWh storage capacity. Also on display is a 2.5 MW full-load BESS model with a storage capacity of up to 5 MWh.

EASTENERGY’s Storage Portfolio

EASTENERGY, a fairly new name in the energy storage segment, is participating in this year’s SNEC with 2 new products. The company showcased a 215 kWh ESS with 10 battery packs and a higher-capacity containerized BESS.

GCL Perovskite’s Products for Space Applications

GCL Perovskite, the perovskite manufacturing arm of GCL Group, showcased a few samples of single-junction perovskite cells for space applications. On the perovskite module side, the company detailed the latest efficiency achievement. For a 2,053 cm² single-junction perovskite rigid module, the maximum efficiency has reached 23.696%. A smaller counterpart (2,042 cm²) achieved up to 30.23% efficiency; however, whether it is single-junction or a tandem is unknown.

 In terms of flexible single-junction perovskite modules, a 30 × 30 cm-sized module yields a maximum efficiency of 21.79%. A smaller (25 × 25 cm) tandem counterpart achieved up to 27.1% efficiency. These are best suited for space applications, such as satellites. The company claims these modules limit their power degradation within 2% of the label value after 10 years of operation.

EVE Showcases Utility BESS and cells

EVE, a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery cell and ESS provider, is showcasing its latest product portfolio targeting the utility storage market. The company exhibited 2 types of 628 Ah LFP cells: LF702S and LF648K. Also part of the display are Mr.Giant 2.0 series containerized BESS with a storage capacity of up to 6.9 MWh and the smaller capacity (5 MWh) Mr.Giant 1.0.

Day 1 Wrap Up: Storage and Power Electronics in Focus

BYD's showcase includes its Haohan battery storage platform, GC Flux grid-forming PCS, and GC Master EMS.

BYD highlights Grid Forming Storage Solution For Utility Applications

BYD Energy Storage is showcasing its utility-scale portfolio, centered around its Haohan BESS, GC Flux power PCS, and GC Master EMS.

 The Haohan platform is designed for large-scale deployment. It is available in multiple configurations, with the largest variant offering up to 14.568 MWh of energy capacity and the smallest 7.284 MWh. The systems use LFP batteries with liquid cooling. The product is IP66 rated.

 The GC Flux PCS is a grid-forming power conversion platform available in 3.5, 5, and 7 MW configurations. The products specify a power density of 801 kW/m³ and can operate without derating at ambient temperatures of up to 50°C. It is IP65 rated and features C5-M corrosion resistance.

 The GC Master EMS is designed for integrating battery systems, PCS units, renewable generation, and auxiliary systems. The system supports real-time monitoring, dispatch optimization, operational analysis, and asset management.

Hoenergy displayed multiple D-Cube energy storage platforms at SNEC 2026, covering applications ranging from commercial and industrial installations to utility-scale energy storage projects.

Hoenergy Showcases Energy Storage Platforms for C&I and Utility Applications

A China-based energy storage solution provider, Hoenergy, is showcasing multiple battery energy storage systems (BESS0 configurations at SNEC 2026, targeting C&I and utility-scale applications. The portfolio on display includes D-Cube F125/418, D-Cube S125/261 EU, D-Cube H125/261, and D-Cube A500/375/250 platforms. While they differ in capacity, dimensions, weight, and operating conditions, these systems are designed to address a range of deployment scenarios from C&I to large scale utility projects.

The D-Cube S125/261 EU and D-Cube H125/261 are storage solutions with a rated power of 125 kW and energy capacity of 261 kWh, intended for C&I applications, while the former is purpose-built for Europe. For larger solar-plus-storage projects, D-Cube F125/418 offers a 418 kWh configuration. The D-Cube A500/375/250 is designed as a higher-power platform features a modular design for flexible power configuration and suitable for extreme temperatures.

Across these products, features such as liquid cooling, integrated BMS, and support for different grid and applications are highlighted.

SolaX showcased its HS160-PA modular battery storage system and AEL130 inverter, designed for scalable commercial and utility-scale energy storage applications.

Solax Showcases Modular Storage And Scalable Inverter Platforms

Solax presented its latest storage and inverter solutions, highlighting a modular approach to both C&I and utility applications. The company's HS160-PA storage solution offers capacities ranging from 64 kWh to 1,024 kWh through DC-parallel expansion. A single 64 kWh unit can be stacked to a 4-module configuration reaching 256 kWh, while cluster-based expansion enables MWh-scale deployments. According to the company, the system supports storage durations ranging from 2 to 16 hours. This allows flexibility for different application requirements.

The AEL130 inverter is rated at 130 kW, which can be scaled to 1.3 MW by operating 10 units in parallel. Solax specifies a maximum 200 A charge and discharge current, optional generator and EPS interfaces, and PV inputs supporting up to 42 A per MPPT.

Hoymiles Launches 460 kW String PCS for Utility-Scale Storage

Hoymiles has introduced its new HPCS460 power conversion system (PCS). It is based on ANPC (active neutral point clamped) topology, a 3-level converter architecture designed to reduce switching losses, lower stress, and improve conversion efficiency. According to the company, the product achieves a peak efficiency of 99%. The HCPS460 adopts a liquid-cooling design and is specified to operate without derating at coolant temperatures of up to 60°C. Hoymiles also highlights a power control precision of ≤1% of rated power when operating above 20% of rated output, enabling accurate power dispatch and grid-support functions.

GoodWe showcased its integrated energy portfolio at SNEC 2026, highlighting inverter safety features and PV direct-driven heat pump solutions.

GoodWe Highlights Smart Inverter Features and PV-Driven Heat Pumps

GoodWe is showcasing a broad portfolio of solar and storage solutions, including inverters, batteries, heat pumps, EMS, EV chargers, and PV building materials. Among the technologies highlighted is a new inverter feature that uses automatic reverse fan rotation for dust cleaning, helping reduce dust accumulation. The company also demonstrated its BUS explosion-proof technology, designed to improve inverter safety.

 In the heat pump segment, GoodWe is exhibiting its PV direct-driven heat pump water heater. Its R290 side-discharge system features dual-side air inlets to improve airflow and heat-exchange efficiency. According to the company, the system uses R290 refrigerant, can operate at ambient temperatures as low as -7°C, and delivers water temperatures of up to 75°C.

Daqo Energy showcased its BESS and integrated power electronics solutions, expanding beyond its traditional polysilicon business.

Daqo Expands Beyond Polysilicon into Energy Storage and Power Electronics

Primarily a manufacturer of high-purity polysilicon, Daqo Energy showcased its growing presence in energy storage and power electronics segments at SNEC 2026. The company displayed an integrated step-up transformer and power conversion solution alongside battery and energy storage systems (BESS). Daqo's storage portfolio includes the DQE-DC-C5000 and DQE-DC-C6250, offering capacities of 5.015 MWh and 6.25 MWh, respectively. Both systems are based on LFP battery chemistry and feature liquid cooling. According to the product specs, the systems weigh 41.5 t and 48 t. They feature IP55 enclosure protection and an operating temperature range of -30°C to 55°C.

Sungrow's SH50–125CX hybrid inverter is designed for modular C&I energy storage systems with storage durations ranging from 2 to 8 hours.

Sungrow Introduces Modular C&I Storage Platform with 50–125 kW Hybrid Inverter

Sungrow showcased its SH50–125CX 3-phase hybrid inverter for commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage applications at SNEC 2026. The inverter is available in a power range of 50-125 kW and is designed for modular deployment with discharge durations ranging from 2 to 8 hours. The solution is part of Sungrow's PowerKeeper modular C&I energy storage platform and comes with Logger1000 web interface monitoring system. According to the company, the platform incorporates safety and security features, including 5D alerts, triple-guard protection, and cell-to-plant architecture.
