LONGi’s latest Hi ROOF E solution features a BC module with a rated power output of up to 670 W and an efficiency of up to 24.8%
Its steel frame with zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating yields higher mechanical strength and exhibits anti-corrosion properties for the module compared to traditional frames
This system offers an integrated clamping system that includes a small rail, briquette, U-bolt, and clamp A & B column, eliminating guide rails and speeding up installations
Leading vertically integrated PV manufacturer LONGi introduced the LONGi Hi ROOF E metal-roof PV solution at the International New Energy and Smart Energy Industry Expo in Shandong, China.
According to the company, this solution comprises a BC module and an integrated self-developed clamping system, aimed at different types of residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) metal roofs. The module, featuring 144 (12 × 12) half-cut BC cells (HPBC), is laminated with dual glass (front + rear) and a rear white backsheet. This is further encircled by steel frames with a groove-like design, rather than conventional aluminum alloy frames along the perimeter of the laminate. The company states that the steel frame, with ultrathin zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating, improves the module’s mechanical strength (5,400 Pa maximum static front-side load and 3,600 Pa for the rear) compared to its aluminum counterparts. In addition to ensuring the mechanical rigidity of the product against potential roof leakage and overturning during high wind speed, this module offers a maximum power output and efficiency of 670 W and 24.8%, respectively.
The solution also offers an integrated clamping system that includes a small rail, briquette, U-bolt, and clamp A & B columns, all part of the standard dispatch package. Installers can easily connect the module with the horizontal clamp via the frame groove (mentioned above), while the vertical clamp grips the metal roof without a guide rail. The company states that, unlike the traditional roof-mounting process, which often encounters a mismatch between fixtures and components (design vs. installation site), this solution supports different metal roof types, including corner mounting, angled structures, and standing seams. As a result, this attribute increases installation speed, reduces labor costs, and eliminates dependency on third-party components during installations.
The company offers a warranty for the whole system, including materials and processes, of up to 15 years.
