  • Midea Hiconics introduced its third-generation all-in-one residential ESS at SNEC 2026

  • The integrated system combines battery, inverter, PCS and energy management functions in a single unit

  • The portfolio includes products from 3 kW to 30 kW with battery capacities ranging from 5 kWh to 16 kWh

Midea Hiconics, an energy storage and inverter manufacturer, presented its latest residential energy storage solutions at SNEC 2026, with a focus on a third-generation all-in-one platform designed to integrate multiple home energy assets into a single system. During an interaction with Michael Schmela, Managing Director of TaiyangNews, Gerry Liu , General Manager of Overseas Business at Hiconics, Midea Energy discussed the company's latest product developments and residential energy strategy.

Highlighting its third-generation all-in-one ESS platform, Liu said it integrates battery, inverter, power conversion system (PCS), battery management system (BMS), and energy management functions into a single unit. The system is designed to work with residential energy assets such as heat pumps and EV chargers.

Liu explained that the solution enables precise control of connected heat pumps through 10 power adjustment levels. He added that the company is working on incorporating AI-based functions to further optimize household electricity consumption.

It also showcased the company’s residential control platform, which allows users to monitor and manage connected energy devices and compatible home appliances through a single application.

According to Liu, the latest generation uses a new battery platform and a more compact design by integrating key components into one enclosure. This simplifies the overall system architecture and reduces installation complexity, he added.

The residential product lineup of Hiconics includes both standalone and all-in-one systems. It includes low-voltage hybrid inverters, battery stacks, and off-grid as well as hybrid inverter solutions for residential applications. It covers power ratings from 3 kW to 30 kW in 1-phase and 3-phase versions, with battery capacities ranging from 5 kWh to 16 kWh.

Liu also explained the company's dual-brand strategy. He said the Midea brand is more closely aligned with the company's home appliance business and existing distribution network. Midea is positioning Hiconics as the group's dedicated energy brand, intended to expand the company's reach through new distribution partners and broader energy-related applications. Despite the different branding approaches, Liu said both portfolios are primarily aimed at the residential market.
