The Himalaya M6 series 120-cell full black lightweight heterojunction (HJT) solar module with up to 400 W output and 21.96% efficiency is the latest offering of Chinese solar PV module producer Huasun. The new module is targeting the distributed PV market, especially residential rooftop.
The new panel weighs 19.5 kg as the manufacturer has reduced glass thickness to 1.6mm from 2.0mm, emphasizing that 'makes the module lighter by about 20%'.
It uses 120 pieces of 166mm HJT half-cut cells with SMBB technology that reduces the current transmission distance while improving optical utilization. The company highlighted the module comes with low temperature coefficient, high bifaciality and low PID & LOD.
The company has used high reflectivity black films in encapsulation that helps improve the utilization rate with increased backside reflection. With HJT cell technology, module power output can be up to 10W higher than comparative mainstream products in the market, it added.
Huasun is offering 15-year product warranty and 30-year linear performance warranty for the new module that comes with TUV certification. It is to enter mass production soon.
In June 2022, the Chinese company released its Himalaya G12 series of modules targeting to become the 1st manufacturer to ship over 1 GW of HJT modules (see China PV News Snippets).
Huasun takes the 3rd spot on TaiyangNews Top Solar Modules Listing September 2022 for its G12 sized n-type panel having an efficiency of 22.53% (see Top Solar Modules Listing — September 2022).
