Chinese integrated solar PV manufacturer LONGi Solar has expanded its Hi-MO solar panel series with the launch of Hi-MO 5m module having a power conversion efficiency of 21.25% and 415W power output.
A 54-cell configuration, the module is based on M10 (182mm) half-cut PERC gallium-doped p-type cells using integrated segmented ribbon technology that traps more light into the cell and reduces cell stress. It weighs less than 23 kg and comes in the size of 1722 mm x 1134 mm, making it light enough for one person to install, claims LONGi meaning labor costs can be brought down with this.
According to the manufacturer, the Hi-MO 5m performs well in low-light conditions as morning and evening. It supports most standard mounting systems clamping on the long and short sides of the frame, along with lay-in or slide-in systems. These are also compatible with most popular inverters, stated LONGi that's offering 25-year performance warranty for the new product.
This module is targeted at small and medium sized commercial and industrial (C&I) applications as well as the private, residential segment.
The Hi-MO 5 module series is one of the significant product lines for the Chinese company. In February 2021, it launched a 66-cell Hi-MO 4 monofacial PV module, and followed it up with Hi-RO Onyx for rooftop solar segment (see Very high Efficient Solar Module).
In July 2020, Hongbin Fang of LONGi told TaiyangNews that the manufacturer aims for the Hi-MO 5 product line to account for 30% of its total shipments in 2021 (see LONGi-Hi- MO 5 To Account For 30% Shipment In 2021).
TaiyangNews is coming out with our PERC Cell Production Equipment Report to be launched on March 22, 2022 during our 1-day Virtual Conference on Pushing PERC Cells To Its Limits-How to Manufacture Highest Efficiency Standard Solar Cells. Registration for the event is free and can be done here.
