  • Sharp has launched 2 new modules using M6 wafer size with 166mm dimension
  • These 120 half-cell solar PV modules use 9 busbar technology with each weighing 21 kg
  • NU-JC370 module has a power output of 370W and an efficiency of 20% with a white foil on the backside and an anodized silver frame
  • NU-J360B is an all-black module with an output of 360W, a black frame, and a black backsheet has an efficiency of 19.46%

Japanese electronics manufacturer Sharp Corporation has introduced 2 new monocrystalline PERC half-cell solar PV modules claiming 'particularly low electricity generation costs or levelized cost of electricity (LCOE).
Both the new modules— NU-JC360B and NU-JC370—are targeted for home and commercial and industrial rooftops and use M6 (166mm) wafer size with each having 120 half-cells corresponding to the 'new standard on the PV market'. Both modules are equipped with original MC4 connectors and 1,250 mm cables enabling problem-free cabling lowering system costs, the company explained.
As the name suggests, NU-JC370 module has a power output of 370W and an efficiency of 20% with a white foil on the backside and an anodized silver frame. It claims an efficiency of 19.46% for the all-black NU-J360B with an output of 360W, a black frame, and a black backsheet.
Dimensions of both the modules are 1,765 x 1,048 mm and each weighs 21 kg. As is the case with all half-cells modules from the company's portfolio, Sharp says these new modules also have 3 small junction boxes each equipped with a bypass diode. It has incorporated 9-busbar technology with round wires and are certified according to IEC61215 and IEC61730.
Sharp is offering 15-year EU product guarantee and a 25-year linear performance guarantee.
"We want to minimize the electricity production costs for our customers and therefore rely on comprehensive measures for efficient energy generation, for high reliability and low BoS and CapEx costs," said Sharp Energy Solutions Europe President, Peter Thiele. "The NU-JC360B and the NU-JC370 combine these properties for the benefit of every PV system."
This launch follows the company's September 2020 announcement for new high performance modules with 144 half cut cells and 440W power rating, also using M6 size (see Sharp Unveils 440W Half-Cell Solar Module).
