REC Group has launched a new series of solar modules calling it REC Alpha Pure Black touting a power output of 405W. It is a further advancement over the company's previous offering in the REC Alpha series launched in 2019. REC Alpha Pure Black series, it said, has a power density of 219W per m².
The Norwegian solar panel maker has used half-cut heterojunction (HJT) solar cells in a gapless layout, and claims to have 'eliminated lead' from all panel components for this one including for cell connections, cross connectors and junction box soldering. This reduces its environmental impact, the management claims and adds, making it eligible to meet the guidelines of European Regulation of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) EU 2015/863 regulation. This regulation, it explains, is mandatory for all electrical products, but not for PV panels.
Among other technologies used, the panel is based on the company's Twin Design while deploying its patented split cell and junction box technology.
It is targeting both residential and business segments for these panels that comes with up to 25 years coverage on product, performance and labor with 'guaranteed power' of at least 92% in the 25th year of operation.
REC Group plans to start production of the new panels starting from June 2021 at its Singapore located fully automated manufacturing fab with initial deliveries expected from July 2021 (see REC Group Begins Production At 600 MW HJT Fab).
