SDN, a solar module manufacturer based out of South Korea, claims an industry leading power output of 600W and 21.5% efficiency for its latest PERC solar panel Sunday 10+ which has now secured KS certification from the Korea Testing and Research Institute to start selling the panels, and is now seeking TUV certification to launch it overseas.
The new panel is an upgrade from Sunday 10 model that has 550W output. It uses half-cell technology and M10 PERC solar cell with 11 busbars. This dual glass bifacial product comes with a 30-year warranty from the manufacturer which it says is the 'longest' in the industry.
Factoring in 'initial shipment', SDN plans to produce over 300 MW of the Sunday 10+ panels annually.
The manufacturer claims this to be the highest output and efficiency vis-à-vis similar products in the domestic market. According to TaiyangNews Top Solar Modules Listing that's updated monthly, 21.7% is the highest efficiency for PERC solar modules for companies listed – and 2 companies, Canadian Solar and Risen Energy, offer such hight-efficient PERC products based on 210 cells and with 675 W power ratings.(see Top Solar Modules Listing—April 2023).
Going forward, SDN plans to launch panels for floating solar PV application using bifacial configuration. In December 2022, it announced 1 GW TOPCon and tandem solar capacity addition to its portfolio by 2025 (see SDN Expanding Module Production Capacity In South Korea).
